Ward Assistant- Medical Day Unit and Transit Unit Depts
Permanent 15.2 hours per fortnight
Fixed Term 55.2 hours per fortnight (maternity leave coverage)
About the role
The successful applicants will be responsible for providing non-medical assistance to ward staff, will enjoy a fast paced and challenging role with a wide range of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Transferring patients & belongings between departments by wheelchair
- Cleaning (including patients’ rooms and bathrooms)
- Transferring medical equipment, patients’ files, results and specimens between departments
- Maintaining stock levels of linen and non-medical supplies
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in Ward Assistant role preferred
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Provides friendly, respectful, person centred care & maintains confidentiality
- Adheres to Infection Prevention & Control principles & procedures
- Adaptable & flexible to help meet demands in unit
