The Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s only cardiac hospital, integrating cardiac care, education and research. Opened in early 2023, it provides innovative, holistic patient-centred care for the Victorian Community. As the winner of an international award for the best design in the Health and Wellbeing Space, the Hospital is an architecturally designed sustainable building, filled with colour, natural light and space, contributing to a welcoming and enjoyable working environment.
Immediate Recovery Centre (IRC)
With a range of Australian-first cardiac services, the IRC is a 35 day bed ward that facilitates the admission of cardiac surgery and cardiology pre-procedural patients, supporting patients requiring advanced cardiac care.
We are now looking for a motivated individual or individuals to join our team for 12 months while one of our Ward Clerks is on parental leave. Our roster varies and the position works four days per week. To be considered, you'll need to be able to work both morning and afternoon shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. You won't be rostered on a Thursday or on public holidays or weekends. While our preference is to appoint one individual to work the four days per week, we can consider appointing two individuals depending on availability and suitability.
The Ward Clerk role
If appointed to this position, you’ll be welcomed into a positive and supportive environment and will be the first person to greet our patients and their families. As a respected, valued and vital team member, you'll also work closely with the wider multidisciplinary cardiac IRCteam.
You will take pride in providing efficient, accurate and timely administrative support including registering patient information, admissions, discharges and transfers as well as ad hoc clerical tasks.
