About the Role

Our Medical and Surgical Unit has a vacancy for a casual role, Monday- Friday, hours can be variable & negotiable. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.

As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include:

· Greet all customers with care and compassion, so that patients and families feel comfortable during their hospital stay

· Work collaboratively with nursing staff and Nurse Unit Manager

· Preparation of patient files, appointment lists and coordination with other Ward Clerks to obtain ward patient files

· Medical record filing

· Providing clerical support to the clinical team

· Liaison with allied health, wards persons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers

Essential Criteria:

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure

· Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

· Ability to work autonomously in a self-directive environment

Desirable criteria:

· Previous experience in a medical environment

· Experience with medical terminology

· Experience with WebPAS Medical System

· Experience in a ward environment
