Position Overview:
Join us at St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc. where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse and transport functions. As the Warehouse Assistant Manager, you'll assist the Warehouse Manager in various tasks related to warehouse management and step in as the Warehouse Manager when required. Your responsibilities will include stock management, staff supervision, delivery coordination, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc. is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for or alleviate the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.
Serviced and supported by our Warehouse, our retail shops play an important role in delivering on our Mission, as proceeds from sales go directly into funding various programs such as providing emergency relief, accommodation assistance, food support, and other services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage warehouse staff, delegate tasks, and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining warehouse stock.
- Utilise forklifts to handle donations, stack items safely, and maintain stock supply to sorters.
- Oversee container loading for export and ensure accurate paperwork.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy and perform office functions as required.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, participate in workforce changes, and provide on-the-job training.
- Act as a delegate for the Warehouse Manager and work flexible hours to cover operational needs.
- Schedule and confirm furniture deliveries, manage transport logistics, and seek efficiency improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engage with internal and external stakeholders to address expectations.
- Champion workplace health and safety practices, conduct WHS inspections, and assist in emergency situations.

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Warehouse Assistant Manager.
Special Conditions:
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory National Police Checks and health checks.
- Physical fitness is relevant to the role, as manual handling and physical activity are required.
- Must hold a current Motor Vehicle Licence (Class C) and Forklift Licence with relevant experience.
- Flexibility in working hours, including some weekends, will be necessary.
- Work location may vary across the Adelaide metropolitan area.
