Loading: Lifting packages off a pallet / from inside a gaylord - and placing them onto the Conveyor.
Inducting: Scanning packages using a label printer, and placing labels onto the packages using the label printer.
Picking: Identifying packages on the Conveyor and picking them off the Conveyor, and placing them onto a rack.
Stowing: Storing packages into specific allocated containers(bags) and scanning the packages into the containers using a finger scanner device.
Staging: Assembling a route - following a picklist, picking a combination of bags and packages off the racks, and placing them onto a cart - scanning each item using a finger ring scanner device.
Dispatch - Lanes: Handing over carts to Delivery Partners (via pushing the cart). Checking that the DP has completely loaded all packages, by physically observing that the carts are empty, and by verifying the information on the DPs phone app.
Dispatch - Yard Marshalls: Coordinating and Maintaining a Safe traffic flow of cars within the Dispatch Yard. Sub-tasks:
Moving pallets of packages using a Pallet Jack
Cutting open cling film from wrapped pallets and disposing cling film into a bin
Cutting large pieces of cardboard into smaller pieces and disposing into a bin
Picking packages off the Conveyor (at the end of the Conveyor)
Diverting packages on the Conveyor
Moving full carts of packages from inside the building to outside the building
Moving empty carts within the building
Bringing in empty carts from outside the building after Dispatch
Restocking the aisles with empty bags, and scanning each bag using the finger ring scanner device
99% of the parcels are between 1-2kgs with the odd items being 8-9kgs
The majority of tasks involve some level of physical work (lifting/pulling/pushing - typical warehouse tasks), some a lot more than others. However, we will obviously be quite flexible with the tasks for what we are trying to achieve.
