The Natural Bedding Company is looking for a dedicated and creative warehouse & production Leading Hand to assist in the current growth of the department. As a small team we require someone with excellent communication skills, who is highly organised and thinks outside the box. You will handle a range of daily tasks, alongside company growth projects, which include but are not limited to, assisting the manager with: inventory management, leading quality control, co-ordination of deliveries/pickups directly with customers & external couriers and eventually directing staff training.
Please be aware that there is a physical component to this role and you will be required to move stock & deliver orders alongside the manufacturing processes. Due to the nature of our products you will only work with organic and low-tox materials, to produce beautiful high-quality, handcrafted, mattresses, pillows and bedding.
This a full time permanent position with the option to negotiate flexible working hours such as monthly RDO’s or 9 day fortnights. Our warehousing & manufacturing is open Monday to Friday between 8am & 4pm and we close on public holidays as well as over the Christmas – New Year period. We provide a range of teas & espresso coffee as well as a selection of various food items.
You will be required to:
- Work alongside and direct the production team ensuring their adherence to our high quality standards and productivity goals.
- Communicate with your manager, different departments within the company, and monitor production schedules/adjust as necessary to meet dispatch & delivery deadlines.
- Work collaborating with the ordering team to ensure availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Once competent, train new employees on production techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace, which includes monitoring equipment and machinery to ensure proper maintenance and reporting of any malfunctions.
- Maintain production records, including inventory levels, production reports, purchase orders and delivery schedules.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of delivery schedules for the company's local deliveries and assign delivery routes based on efficiency and customer requirements.
- Liaise with interstate couriers to plan customer deliveries & transfer of stock to stockists/showrooms
Required/Transferable Skills:
- Professional communication with both internal & external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks & meet deadlines
- Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure productivity within the factory/warehouse
- A good understanding of computer programs (excel, inventory management systems, internal messaging & emails)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High level attention to detail & communication skills
- Capacity to lead and motivate a small team
- Ability to complete standard mathematic calculations
- A reasonable level of fitness/strength
- Australian Drivers License
This role is so much more than simply assisting to lead the daily operations within our warehouse & manufacturing facilities. You will be a core part of our production team.
