About the role

The Warehouse & Logistics Lead is responsible for the control and movement in a safe, timely and accurate manner for a wide variety of tools, materials and supplies in line with the Sustainment Supply Support requirements within the Austal’s Australian Sustainment warehouse.

Key objectives & responsibilities include:

  • Lead Warehouse Management and Distribution Services at the Austal Warehouse
  • Reporting provided in timely manner.
  • Supply Chain process adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy productive work environment.
  • Minimal wastage of consumables.
  • Continuous improvement to warehousing section of the supply chain process.
  • Successful communication between your team and the procurement department.
  • Stock analysis
  • Maintenance on min/max levels to meet ISS demands for planned and corrective maintenance.
  • Demand satisfaction meets KPIs.
  • Audit and reporting
  • Warehouse reports run and actioned in timely manner.
  • Stocktake
  • Stocktaking completed on time and in accordance with defined processes.
  • All discrepancies reported and actioned in timely manner.
  • Supervision of Personnel
  • All HR issues/actions reported and actioned in timely manner.
  • Comply with HSEQ requirements
  • DG compliance maintained.
  • Implement/follow Austal policy/procedures.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

  • Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
  • Forklift Ticket
  • Extensive warehouse management experience or Relevant experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing or Equivalent business.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the goals, materials and/or services procured to ensure satisfactory quality and performance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Computer skills with experience with Pronto/IFS.
  • Flexibility to tailor approach as required to suit the situation.
  • Work with people at all levels and across disciplines within the business.
