Assurance Lead who will oversee assurance activities related to estimates and schedules before projects seek funding approval for the Rio Tinto Aluminium Sustaining Capital portfolio.This role presents an excellent opportunity to oversee a diverse range of estimates and schedules, enhance the skills of team members, and spearhead initiatives aimed at bolstering integrity in future endeavours.We are an open, connected global team that includes some of the industry’s best and brightest minds. With a global reach, the opportunities to develop and grow your career are broad and exciting.Reporting to the Project Services Manager and collaborating within a dynamic team in the Project Controls department, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough reviews of proposed estimates and schedules for projects seeking funding approval.
- Coordinating estimate reviews with internal and external stakeholders for larger, more intricate projects.
- Participating in capital intensity reviews to identify opportunities for refining scope, reducing costs, and meeting stakeholder requirements.
- Directly liaising with the planning team to ensure schedules align with framework requirements and offering feedback for enhancement.
- Enhancing the capability to benchmark projects within the sustaining capital portfolio.
- Demonstrating effective communication skills to provide constructive feedback to key stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Significant experience in the project lifestyle including early study phases and execution
- Thorough knowledge of Estimate Class classification and requirements for end-to-end project lifestyle
- Familiarity with performing variance analyses and distinguishing between scope of work, escalation and currency and timing differences
- Demonstratable experience in capital cost estimating including factored and detailed ‘first principle’ cost estimate development and analysis
- Excellent knowledge of Oracle P6
