Purpose of this role: NP Fulfilment is a Third-Party Logistics Business and the position of Warehouse Manager is core to the Operations of our business.
Experience working in a Supervisory role for a Third-Party Logistics Company is required for the Warehouse Manager position. Ability to lead and direct a warehouse team is very essential. You must be committed to providing exceptional application across all tasks related to this position
The key tasks performed by the Warehouse Manager include: Overseeing all tasks performed in our facilities, including but not limited to Order Picking and Packing, Stock receipt and put-away, Kitting and Returns Processing, Stock counts, loading and unloading containers and trucks.
- Communication: You must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, to other staff and managers. Use of software tools such as Skype, email, proprietary NPF I.T Systems is required.
- Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail is required for this job. We aim for perfection. NO shortcuts to get a job done.
- Teamwork: willingness to assist & support others at all times as required and to get on very well with all team members. No bias or favoritism–the best is what we need so your honesty & fairness is very important. If the team fails, you will be held to account. You are responsible to run a smooth operation.
- Time management: accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given and carry out all duties in the most efficient and timely manner.
- Tasks and responsibilities :
You will be the first point of contact for the Alarm monitoring security company. If you are on leave, you must designate the supervisor or leading hand – and inform the security company.
Oversee Picking and Packing operations in accordance with Company Policy
Treat staff in a professional & efficient manner - respect is key.
Organizing Staff allocations to facilitate the daily workload.
Ensure Picking orders is completed in a timely manner as directed by the HHT and NPF systems.
Ensure Packing is of the highest quality and in line with NPF clients’ packing requirements.
Maintaining Quality by reporting packing issues to the Operations Manager.
Ensuring the correct operation of machines in Warehouse (see systems, machines & technology section)
Reporting Inventory issues, damages and shortages to the Operations Manager.
Maintain a work area that is safe, clean and tidy - at all times.
Manage and direct the whole team to ensure orders scheduled for shipment each day are shipped out in accordance with company guarantees.
Must ensure that the following are completed daily in a timely manner … stock receipt, put away of stock & stock counting
Unloading of trucks and containers are to be completed in a timely manner - clients are aware of when they arrive at our warehouse.
You must ensure the required number of postal & courier trucks are booked to pick up all the day’s work. it is your responsibility to make sure this is done so that no packed orders are left behind.
You are required to have good knowledge on the following and must ensure Team members know how to use:
- Basic tools: Tape gun, Box Cutter, Trolley Jack
- HHT – The Hand-Held Terminal, is the tool used for most operations within the warehouse. You must be able to use this effectively.
- Technology & equipment – you must have working knowledge of all equipment & technology used in your warehouse. You must ensure there is regular maintenance of all equipment and repairs are organised & carried out in a timely manner
- If the equipment is broken down & is a safety hazard, you must report it to your manager and all staff – place a notice on the equipment to say it is not to be used.
- Damage to any company equipment, whether it is major or minor, must be reported immediately to the manager – do not hide the damages or dismiss it as not being an issue – this will not be accepted!

- Stock Picker – (LO Class License required).
- You must carry out Weekly inspections of pallet racking & ensure all damages are reported and fixed at the earliest
- Minor issues with staff must be discussed with the concernedonly, dealt with right away & not allowed to escalate. Major incidents with staff must be reported to the HR department / your Manager, immediately & NOT discussed with the staff.
- Everything is relevant when you are at work - so do not dismiss anyone or anything as if it does not matter – it will effect the smooth running of the business in some way.
- From time to time you may be required to meet with clients or co-ordinate a client visit. This is very important so you must ensure the warehouse is clean & safe to walk through at all times
- From time to time you may be required to work additional / modified hours (including weekends) to ensure all work is completed in accordance with the company guarantee.
- Staff & resource planning - you are responsible for the planning of day to day work & ensuring the relevant & required number of staff are available.
- You are responsible for managing the correct packaging and ensuring there is always sufficient quantity available - reporting to place orders in a timely manner is very important so that the staff can carry out their work uninterrupted.
- You will be responsible for the keys to the gate and warehouse that you have been given & also responsible for who you entrust them with when you are not in.
- The external areas of the property are to be well maintained by the company that is contracted to do so …. plants/garden/nature strips. You must ensure pallets are neatly stacked & stored - if any are damaged, do not keep them on the premises. All rubbish is to be collected by the respective contracted company (whether they can be recycled or not) This is not to be left to accumulate on the premises.
Workplace Health and Safety are most important to us at NPF and in this position, you are also required to :
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow the Company WHS Health and Safety Policies while performing all tasks.
- Ensure all safety issues are reported immediately to the Operations Manager.
- Must conduct regular tool box meetings with staff - cover OH&S matters, general performances, health issues and any relevant concerns at the time (eg COVID )
- Report all safety hazards – if they can be dealt with right away, please do so – if not, ensure it is being seen to & follow up till it is fixed. Also check exit lights are always working.
