An exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Officer/Logistics Administrator has arisen within our client’s business, based in O’Connor.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse through timely and efficient picking, packing, and dispatching of products to meet the needs of the customer and their orders, as well as liaising with clients regarding the status of their orders.
Your responsibilities will include, however not be limited to:
- Storing and packing of goods and materials in accordance with appropriate procedures and/or regulations;
- Preparation and receipt of appropriate documentation including liaison with suppliers;
- Booking of freight forwarding services with approved service suppliers;
- Allocating and retrieving goods from specific warehouse areas;
- Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery to ensure that dates are in line with what was quoted to the client:
- Providing clients with regular updates on the status of their orders and providing accurate delivery information;
- Safely using tools and equipment within the warehouse (basic non - trades maintenance) and ensuring safe work practices with regards to manual handling;
- Liaising professionally with the sales team, management, suppliers, and customers with respect to stores operations and freight forwarding;
- Maintaining control registers including inventory control and being responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of regular reports or stock movement, dispatches, periodic stock - checks;
- Appropriately labelling products and filling shelves;
- Fulfilling all record keeping requirements for inward bound products; and
- Wrapping or packing of goods for dispatch and the dispatch of goods, delivery of goods.
Essential Criteria
- Clean and current driver’s license.
- The ability to fulfill manual handling tasks and associated requirements as per current Worksafe guidelines and practices.
- Sound computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn internal IT systems quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, multi-tasking, together with the capacity to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines.
- Desire and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment would be highly regarded.
