Due to our meteoric growth, Campbell Transport is seeking to appoint a new Procurement Officer to join our rapidly growing team.
Campbell Transport is a locally (WA) owned leading transport and freight company offering bulk haulage, general freight, and other services to our mining clients. Operating for over 20 years, our comprehensive range of efficient commercial freight and logistics solutions has made us one of the leading transport companies in Western Australia.
This diverse role will see you overseeing all aspects of procurement and purchasing for trucks, mining equipment, safety equipment, uniforms, and everything in between.
As a Procurement Officer, you will:
- Conduct purchasing and procurement for Campbell Transport operations.
- Monitor stocks to ensure we've got everything we need to keep trucks on the road.
- Regularly investigate alternative suppliers and products and ensure we're getting the best deal possible.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure we're getting inventory when we need it.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure everyone has everything they need to get the job done.
- Work with the friendly finance team to ensure the administrative aspects of purchasing and procurement are tidy and accessible.
- Complete other ad-hoc duties as required by the Parts and Procurement Manager.
About you
- Have demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in a transport and/or mining environment is highly desired.
- Have a passion for getting the best deal possible.
- Have a working understanding of the implementation and maintenance of cost reduction strategies.
- Have demonstrated ability playing a key part of a dynamic and deadline-driven team environment.
- Functional IT skills and ability to work with the MS Office suite.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to liaise with staff at all levels of the business.
- Have demonstrated analytical strengths and problem-solving skills.
