Warehouse Operator

We are looking for a full time Warehouse Operator to carry out the warehousing function of our new wholesale operation in Crestmead, Queensland. We desire to engage a highly consistent, trustworthy, reliable and hardworking person who can work with a large degree of autonomy within a small team. You will be the only warehouse employee at Crestmead.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a long term growth company. Artmar currently has successful warehouses in Sydney & Melbourne & you will be a key part of the team starting up the wholesale business in a brand new warehouse in Queensland.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• conducting all duties in a safe manner in accordance with WHS policies and legislation
• unloading containers and organising warehouse storage in an efficient and effective manner
• packing customer orders and loading customer trucks at time of pick up (note that heavy lifting does form a part of the role)
• regular cycle counting of stocks & diligent recording of all samples, customer returns, etc
• liaising closely with our Queensland Sales Manager and providing assistance wherever required
• regular communication with the Sydney based customer service team regarding customer orders

You will be required to develop a strong working knowledge of the Artmar product range and logistics processes in order to optimise efficiency and ultimately the level of service provided to our customers.

Must Have experience:

• Current forklift licence
• 5 years experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse environment

Desirable experience

• Prior experience in a natural stone or porcelain tile business warehouse will be very highly regarded, as will any sales/customer service experience
• General computer literacy skills are of added value

The successful candidate must be available to commence employment during May 2024 (exact dates to be finalised) when we open our warehouse. It is envisaged that a short trial period (i.e 1 week) will be required in our Sydney based warehouse before confirmation and commencement of employment.
