Warehouse Storeperson

Eagle Sports is a national wholesale sporting goods distributor with a branch in Malaga, WA. We supply a wide range of different sports equipment, Australia wide. We are seeking a full-time store person to join our small warehouse team.  We offer a fast paced, never boring, work environment with plenty of opportunity to build on your experience in warehousing and distribution. There is also the potential to upskill to assist our sales and customer service teams.  

One of the strengths of this role is the tasks are quite dynamic, so you are not doing the same thing every day or are just a cog in a production line. The successful applicant will be doing a mix of all these tasks:

• Using freight management software to book in consignments
• Unpacking of shipping containers
• Picking and packing customer orders
• Receiving, checking in and dealing with incoming goods
• Loading and unloading of trucks using a forklift
• Any other warehouse duties as required
• Interaction with customers
• Potential to do in-store stock refills

We are looking for the following attributes in a successful applicant:

• Has an affinity for computers and is happy to use/interact with various software in the course of their work
• Able to work independently; we are a small team so looking for a candidate that is confident to work by themselves.
• Can demonstrate problem solving skills and common sense approach to tasks
• Actively looks to make jobs more efficient and effective
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy cartons, as the role does have physically demanding elements
• A strong work ethic; somebody who is just happy to get in and get the job done

We will select the candidate based on who best demonstrates the above attributes, but the characteristics below will win bonus points:

• A current Australian Drivers Licence; preferably with your own transport to and from work.
• A current Australian Forklift Operators Licence
• Some experience in a warehousing setting
• Enjoys sport!
• An understanding of freight management software and freight concepts, (for example how cubic based freight charging works)
