What does the role involve
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Warehouse Leader to join our busy and efficient warehouse team due to a recent internal promotion. Reporting to the Logistics and Systems Manager, this role supports our business by running our warehouse operations and leading a small team of to ensure the effective receipt, storage, value-adding service and dispatch of all raw materials, ingredients, packaging and Finished Goods within our Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) facility. Based in Rowville, the role requires you to be on-site full time from Monday – Friday on day shift.

This role enables our production teams to run, keep running and ultimately send our products out into the world! It’s a pretty important job, and that’s why it’s super important to us that we find the right person for the role. We’re seeking a true team player and natural leader who loves to problem solve and produce results. The ideal fit is someone who thrives by taking full ownership of a warehouse operation, has an ability to work with minimal supervision themselves, is excellent at time management, scheduling and planning (including the organisation of work flow for two other store people and their own workload) and coordinating with external parties (such as delivery drivers and courier companies) to arrange deliveries and for dispatch. You’re not just handy on the forklift, but can find your way around a computer and have a strong grounding in ERP systems (Pronto preferred), a keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy in everything you do. Last, but certainly not least, you are an exceptional communicator who can work with multiple stakeholders (from production floor staff to senior leadership), and truly enjoy leading and mentoring others and providing supervision and support to see your team thrive!
The team
You’ll be part of the small but friendly Warehouse Team which currently consists of two Warehouse Operators/Store people at the site. Your role will also see you (and require you) to consistently interact with our internal Production, Supply Planning, Engineering/Maintenance, QA, R&D and Finance/Payroll teams as well as several other stakeholders across the business and our external delivery drivers and partners —providing opportunities for relationship building, problem solving and collaboration (we’re a friendly bunch!)
What responsibilities form part of this role?
As the Warehouse Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and executing the day to day running of the warehouse within a TGA licensed facility, including ensuring all processes meet and exceed efficiency targets, whilst maintaining cost parameters and customer service levels, including internal and external customers. This looks like: DIFOT of >95% through picking accuracy, transportation being scheduled on time and at the best cost/within budget, stocktakes are accurate and orderly, inward goods are processed according to GMP procedures ensuring deliveries are complete, preserved and traceable and coverage for all warehouse and forklift duties and managing casual labour and overtime to budget.
- People leadership, including embodying Orchard values and behaviours and reinforcing these within the team, managing performance, wellbeing and engagement of team members by providing direction, coaching, mentoring and support based on individual needs and creating a culture of achievement, satisfaction and high performance.
- Complying with Orchard policies and legislation in order to maintain a safe working environment and all OH&S matters are proactively managed and resolved, including all risks/hazards or incidents being reported and an investigation commenced within 24 hours.
- Adhering to the Quality Management System (QMS) to consistently provide customers with quality product, including TGA Audit compliance, Right First Time measure of 99% and 100% completion of all Warehouse related CAPA’s and Deviations.

Specific skills/qualifications needed
Qualifications required:
- Forklift licence essential
Experience required will include:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Storeperson
- Supervisory or front-line leadership background
- Previous experience working in a food and/or TGA licensed facility with a good understanding of GMP and GDP
- TGA Audit compliance experience preferred
- Pronto software experience desirable or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution experience
