The Role
As the Waste Transfer Station Operator you will:
- Ensure the Waste Transfer Stations are kept in a clean and tidy state and supervise the appropriate use of the facilities by patrons
- Ensure that patrons use the recycling stations appropriately to avoid contamination, including regularly inspecting the recycling bins.
- Provide general waste management advice to patrons.
- Identify waste types and charge appropriate fees for disposal
- Identify and recover recyclable materials suitable for resale from the Waste Transfer facilities
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Minimum preferred completion of Year 10, Basic vocational training e.g. pre-apprenticeship, Traineeship certificate
- Previous experience in the operation of a Waste Transfer Station
- Previous experience in cash handling
- A demonstrated understanding of waste diversion and minimisation practices
- Physical capacity to undertake manual labour within the scope of responsibilities
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
