Water Meter Investigations Officer (200948) 

Maximum Term Contract Part Time - 36.25 hours per fortnight - until 22/04/2025  

$35.13 to $37.74  Hourly  + up to 12% super

Your opportunity

An exciting temporary job-sharing role has become available in our Rates and Water Billing Team as the Water Meter Investigations Officer. For training purposes, you will be required to work full time for the first month and then part time thereafter.

In this role you will assist the Billing Services Team with Water Meter audits and replacements whilst accurately maintaining rating and property information. The position also provides technical and administrative support in relation to metered water consumption to internal and external customers to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements, corporate key performance indicators and relevant legislation.

The Billing Services Team is a high volume, highly regulated work environment where the Water Meter Investigations Officer will learn how to:

  • Investigate internal and external customer enquiries in relation to metered water consumption, conduct onsite testing and leak identification, identify and replace residential meters.
  • Investigate discrepancies in information by locating Water Meters, confirming Water Meter identification and readings to meet performance measures.
  • Carry out site inspections to verify meter installations in new developments prior to and during maintenance periods.
  • Conduct property audits to confirm property use and the number of pedestals to ensure billing is accurate for customers.
  • Maintain high volume data input with attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
  • Actively contribute to the maintenance and development of operational work instructions.
  • Contribute to the wider business unit by providing support and knowledge sharing to grow and develop skill sets within the Unit.

Eligibility

  • You'll hold a current class C Manual Driver's Licence.
  • You'll have the ability to obtain and hold a Confined Space Entry Certificate.
