The Opportunity:
Icon Water currently has an exciting part-time Metering Technical Officer role available. The role has primary responsibility for performing field-based asset investigations and assessment activities related to water meters, and as required desktop works to support accurate data collection. The role would suit anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and getting their steps up daily.
Your day will involve:
- Performing infield assessments and information gathering of water meters to inform the cyclical meter replacement program against KPIs.
- Performing ad hoc field/desktop investigations into various metering issues.
- Performing follow up activities to ensure the resolution of metering issues including updating data, liaising with Key Accounts and Revenue Assurance Team, Customer Solutions and Network Maintenance Services to meet KPIs.
- Ensuring water meter and associated data is maintained in relevant databases to the highest standard.
- Where needed, perform inspections of new water meters to ensure compliance to Icon Waters standards to meet required KPIs.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of Icon Water’s Metering Standards and Procedures and related technical documentation and be able to apply these in practice in the field.
- Assisting the Metering Senior Technical Officer and other members of team as required.
- Reporting to the Project Manager of the Meter Replacement Program.
- Assisting in the identification of workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and perform work in accordance with implemented safe work practices and procedures.
- Other duties within the employee’s skill, competence and training.
Our ideal candidates will possess:
- Experience in the inspection of utility network infrastructure and investigation/resolution of network defects (Desirable but not essential).
- Broad knowledge of asset performance and condition assessment. (Desirable but not essential)
- Experience working with and interpreting plans, mapping tools and various online applications using mobile technology devices.
- Experience using asset systems and databases.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrated experience and strong commitment to customer service and a range of internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
- Possession of a valid Australian Driver’s Licence driver’s is essential.
