Rous County Council are unlike other councils. We are a multipurpose County Council. A small and unique organisation who plays a vital role across our region. We are deeply connected to our communities through the environmental services of bulk water supply to approximately 100,000 people, weed biosecurity and flood mitigation infrastructure across various local council areas. Encompassing Ocean Shores in the north and Evans Head in the south.
The role
Do you enjoy working in the great outdoors that has picturesque views of some the most beautiful spots in the northern rivers region? How about working in a one-of-a-kind, unique water supply only job? We would love for you to join our Water Operations team!
Your main responsibilities will involve maintenance of council’s distribution and reticulation assets to achieve compliance with council’s Drinking Water Management System, reading of water meters schedules and delivery of the water meter replacement program. The role will also involve relief duties of the sampling of Rous’s water quality sites.
We do understand that not every candidate will meet every desired qualification or skill, so if you have a thorough knowledge of water operations, metering or Sampling and a willingness to learn, we would love to hear from you.

Your strong interest in the water supply industry, a positive can-do attitude, putting your technical skills and experience to good use to help maintain our pristine water supply to our North Coastal areas.

Location is Emigrant Creek Water Treatment Plant until relocation to Gallans Road, Ballina in 2025.
