As the Water Process Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the Asset & Operations business unit, reporting to the Manager Catchment & Water Treatment Operations. You will lead a team of professionals that manage the quantity and quality of drinking water product supplied to customers and the community, from catchment to network. You will be responsible for the proactive management of raw water supplies and the operation and maintenance of our nineteen water treatment plants, to ensure that the treatment process is reliable, robust and complies with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and Health Based Targets (HBT).
A snapshot of your day
- Lead a diverse team of operational professionals, ensuring the continuous operation and support of 19 Water Treatment Plants
- Provide operational, maintenance and improvement oversight of both raw water transfer and water treatment asset performance and operations.
- Develop and implement strategies for current and future Water Process Operations, including identifying business improvements and being proactive in relation to risk management or mitigation opportunities.
- Be the subject matter expert in water quality and Water Process Operations, working in close consultation with internal/external stakeholders to continually improve knowledge
- Build and maintain operational understanding of Coliban Water raw water transfer and water treatment assets by regular on-site meetings and engagement with operational staff. Ensure knowledge capture within relevant operations manuals.
- Uphold compliance with regulatory standards, including performance analysis and reporting.
- Ensure resilience and emergency response capability across our assets

Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant related science-based discipline with 5+ years post-graduate experience.
- Experience in; - a complex operating environment, such as oil and gas, mining, electricity, or water utility. - drinking water treatment and water quality - a management position with proven ability in developing staff and creating a positive supportive work environment that results in a high performing team
Salary
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 5, $112,904 - $145,176 base salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
