About the role
Austal are recruiting a Waterfront Supervisor to support the business’ requirements for RMP-North. The role will be responsible for the coordination of maintenance activities associated with allocated program/project/vessels/s. This includes the coordination, supervision, and management of workers & contractors to perform the required preventative maintenance, and approved corrective maintenance, in a safe manner to the required standard.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Support the safe, on time & on budget delivery of Contracted Work Scope
- Support applicable business managers with the management of resources and contractors as assigned
- Planning of project and maintenance task activities
- Schedule adherence and reporting
- Financial monitoring and reporting
- Communication of expectations to all concerned parties
- Working with program/project teams to ensure expectations are clearly communicated
- The inspection and approval of any works as necessary
- Apply quality procedures and practices which ensure that all works are carried out to the applicable ISO standard and/or in accordance with the 'specification' of the program/project
- Adhere to any environmental and safety requirements
- Perform duties and take responsibilities as assigned by line manager or RMP-N Program Manager
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance or Trade qualification
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
- Project Supervision experience within the marine or maintenance industry
- A strong working knowledge and understanding of safety management practices including working in confined spaces, working at heights, working with energised systems, isolations, risk assessments, permits and Job Safety and Environment Analysis'
- Project planning and scheduling, trade and service time management & de- confliction
- Internal/external dispute resolution and negotiations
- Proven ability to lead, build, manage and foster a team orientated environment;
- Experienced in defence statutory compliance;
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
- High level of analytical and reporting skills;
- Ability to plan, organise and work effectively in a high tempo team environment
Desirable
- Quoting/estimating experience
- Project planning experience
- Use of CMMS
- Diploma or higher in Project Management, Quality Management and / or Leadership & Management
