About the role- As the Way Maintainer, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development Asset and Maintenance Group.
- As a Way Maintainer you will carry out maintenance work of a specialised nature specifically related to V/Line’s Infrastructure.
- Hours of work on current roster are Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm with a rostered day off each fortnight
Key Accountabilities include:- Maintenance work including the renewal of track work and crossings including sleepers, rail, ballasts, and fastenings.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with appropriate OH&S standards and regulations.
- Based in Kilmore East, travel across the wider Northeastern region will be required at times.
- Flexibility to work overtime and away from home as required.

About youIn this role you will be required to work within a team environment, follow directions and work safely following process and procedures to keep you and the people around you safe. Previous experience working within a similar environment performing manual labour and hand tool experience is required.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Team-oriented with a capacity to follow directions and maintain safety standards.
- Experience in manual labour and proficiency with hand tools is essential.
- Preferred experience in rail labour or related fields such as construction or heavy industry.
- Strong communication abilities and a commitment to a zero-harm workplace.
- Openness to learning and working within a diverse team environment.
