About AIRAH
The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air conditioning, and Heating (AIRAH) is a membership association for professionals in the HVAC&R industry with a history that spans more than 100 years into the past. Our mission is to lead an Australian HVAC&R industry that is highly skilled, safe, and sustainable. The main functions we provide for our industry and members are:
- Production of technical materials
- Production of industry publications
- Production and administration of professional development opportunities
- Running networking events
- Running conferences and major events
- Advocacy for and on behalf of our industry
About the role
We're looking for a Web Developer to join our team and help us build our organisation’s digital future. The successful candidate will be working on our relatively green-field project to rebuild and improve our digital offerings.
Here’s a run-down of some of the major components of the project:
- Membership management
- Many account types
- Access restriction based on membership or purchases
- eCommerce
- Transactional emails
- Learning Management System
- Data visualisation
- Event management
We currently have dev capacity to work on all of this, but we’re looking to expand the team so we can get the project moving faster.
A smaller part of this role will involve support and maintenance of our existing websites (iMIS, WordPress, and some basic static sites) and other digital properties.

Recommended skills
- HTML (focus on quality, accessible markup)
- Strong grasp on modern CSS (grid, flex, custom properties, etc)
- JavaScript

- HTML email templates (from scratch / with MJML)
- WordPress (block-based)
- Basic Linux server admin
- Basic DNS management
- Basic version management via Git
- Basic knowledge of NPM and NodeJS
Favoured experience
- Experience with Learning Management Systems
- Experience with membership websites
- Experience with new website deployments
- Experience with web analytics software (e.g GA4)
- Experience with Cloudflare
- Experience with iMIS
- Basic graphic design skill
- Familiarity with SVG
