Welders/Fabricators/Pressure Welders/Painters

Austate Services is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and fabrication of high-quality road transport equipment. We specialise in the custom manufacture of Truck Bodies and Trailers and in the repair and restoration of heavy vehicles in addition to Sales and Servicing. Our trailers are manufactured from raw steel for use on road highways.We have full-time roles available for Welders/Fabricators/Pressure Welders who will provide metal trade skills and competencies associated with construction and maintenance requirements of Austate Services. The position will operate from within the workshop and assist with the manufacture and repairs of truck bodies and trailers.Key Skills:

• Trade Certificate (111 or higher) is desirable
• Experience in metal construction, fabrication or maintenance of road transport equipment is a necessity
• TIG/MIG welding skills and experience is a necessity
• Sheetmetal Cutting experience
• CNC operator skills/experience (would be an advantage)
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Ability to read shop drawings/engineers plans
• Speak and understand fluent English is a necessity

Key Activities (but not limited to):

• Undertake aluminium & metal trade construction, fabrication & maintenance
• Upkeep of metal trades workshop area and associated tools and equipment
• Maintain equipment & machinery to a safe and good working condition
• Compliance to all OHS requirements
• Adherence to company quality standards

We also have full-time roles available for Painters. The position will operate from within the workshop and assist with the prepping and painting of raw steel and components including re-spraying of finished products. Your role will also include grit blasting raw materials.Key skills and duties will include:

• Prepare paint to desired colour and consistency.
• Prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray gun.
• Mask or tape off details and components prior to painting.
• Maintain stock levels of all items required to complete the job.
• Manages OH&S and environmental hazards in the paint bay and workplace.
• Maintain paint bay and equipment in a clean manner at all times.
• You must have your own tools, protective equipment and breathing apparatus.
• Compliance to all OH&S requirements.
• Adherence to company quality standards.
• Your own transport is desirable.

Workshop hours are 7.00am - 3.00pmOvertime available - overseas applicants need not applyPay Rate: $70,000 - $80,000 per annumWe are located in the easily accessible suburb of Minto which is a 20-minute walk from the nearest train station. We are 3 minutes away off the Hume Highway.Try your hand in manufacturing locally made semi trailers. Learn new skills with on the job training provided.
