RESPONSIBILITIES:
To execute assigned tasks accurately, read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
Collaborate with field labour crew to ensure efficient installations and project completion.
Determine appropriate fillers for welding tasks based on project specifications and personal expertise.
Cut marked metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machines.
Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using manual and machine tools, employing heating and hammering techniques as necessary.
Align parts to be joined meticulously using precision hand tools and measuring instruments.
Employ various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting to join metal sections effectively.
Conduct thorough examinations of welds to assess bead width, penetration depth, and overall precision, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Complete product finishing by meticulously cleaning, polishing, filing, and applying appropriate treatments such as acidic solutions.
Refine welds by employing filing, chiselling, and grinding techniques to achieve desired smoothness and aesthetics.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum AQF Certificate III in welding and metal fabrication are desirable.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a PRESSURE WELDER or similar role, with a strong understanding of welding principles and techniques.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and project plans.
You have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, coordinating with field labour crews and other stakeholders.
Sound knowledge of selecting appropriate fillers and welding techniques based on project requirements.
Competence in operating a range of hand tools, flame-cutting torches, metal-cutting machines, and welding equipment.
Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to align and join metal sections accurately.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for assessing weld quality.
Physical stamina and skill to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and prolonged periods of standing.
Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations in the workplace.
