Service Stream’s Energy division are currently seeking a Welding Supervisor to join our growing company. You will be responsible for leading a team to ensure top-quality, safe, and efficient welding projects. Collaborate across departments for project management, quality control, safety, and team development, contributing to our commitment to welding excellence.

Key Responsibilities
As a Welding Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing welding operations within our organization. This role requires a skilled and experienced individual who can lead a team of welders, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all welding projects. The Welding Supervisor will collaborate with various departments to achieve production goals and maintain a high standard of welding excellence.
Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, guide, and supervise a team of welders, providing clear instructions and support.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and a commitment to quality.
- Oversee welding projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to guarantee the highest standards of welding craftsmanship.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any welding defects or issues promptly.
- Prioritize and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all team members.
- Conduct safety training sessions and promote a safety-first culture among the welding team.
- Manage welding resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of welding supplies.
- Identify training needs within the welding team and facilitate skill development programs.
- Mentor and coach welders to enhance their technical skills and overall performance.
To excel in the role of Mechanical Supervisor/Work Group Leader, you're a skilled tradesman with a proven track record in hands-on mechanical roles. We seek an individual with demonstrated expertise and several years of experience in the field, progressing into a supervisory position. The ideal candidate should embody the following qualities:
- Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and welding quality standards.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Welding certification(s) is highly desirable.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- Construction White Card
- Formal qualifications relevant to your trade
- Commitment to health, safety, environment, and industry best practices
- Effective communication skills
- Pre employment Medical (If hired)
- Lab Drug & Alcohol Testing (If hired)
- Current Nationally Recognised Confined Space Certificate (within 3 years)
- Current Nationally Recognised Working at Heights Certificate (within 3 years)
- High-risk Forklift Ticket
- High-risk Elevated Work Platform Ticket
- High-risk Crane Tickets
- Valid Australian Truck Licence
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training is a plus.
- Several years of hands-on welding experience, progressing into a supervisory role.
- The role may require working in various environments, including workshops, fabrication facilities, and construction sites.
- Occasional extended hours and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines
