The Role
Woodcroft College is seeking an experienced Wellbeing Assistant to join our Junior School, commencing in Term 3.
The Wellbeing Assistant works within the College community in partnership with the inclusive education team and school counselling service to enhance student social and emotional wellbeing and learning outcomes.
The Wellbeing Assistant supports all wellbeing initiatives and targeted strengths-based supports for students in the Junior School. They also have a pivotal role in working collaboratively with the inclusive education team, families and external agencies.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Child centred practice and positive mindset.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with the College community including students, and other staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to exercise judgement and initiative to resolve issues.
- A passion for supporting students with mental health difficulties and / or disabilities to access the curriculum and engage in College life.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, as well as collaboratively, as part of a team.
- Ability to develop, build and nurture relationships.
- High standard of personal ethics and good character.
Certified Requirements:
- Certificate, Diploma or Higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Responding to Abuse and Neglect Certificate (RRHAN-EC).
