Our client has been a respected provider of aged care and community services built on an outstanding reputation of quality care and innovation, they are faith-based organization delivering with genuine care, respect and compassion.
We currently have an opportunity for a WHS Business Partner to join their team. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will be responsible for supporting effective risk management practices focused on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) across all areas of the organisation. This position supports management by ensuring there are safe work practices and environments for teams that work across varied settings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide health and safety support and advice in line with legislative and policy requirements. Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, work instructions, forms and guides. Support the functioning of the Health and Safety Committee across the organisation.
Review, update and maintain health and safety systems. Risk management and assessment through identifying and assessing workplace hazards and risks. Facilitating emergency plans, accident prevention, and promoting safety training plans.
Motivate, coach and mentor our employees to assist with embedding a positive safety culture. Identify opportunities for improvement. Work with the Director in relation to regulatory notifications and inspections.
Facilitate incident/accident investigations processes where required and analysis to identify issues, potential systemic issues and control improvements. Establish meaningful partnerships and support business operations to proactively identify hazards. Support the development of safety inductions for all new personnel.
Support the development of WHS education programs, ensuring they remain up to date and relevant. Provide data, identify trends and assist with reporting on Health and Safety to various levels in the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
Qualification in WHS (Degree or Cert level) or demonstrated experience in that field. Strong working knowledge of WHS Act and regulations Sound computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS legislation, its application and managing those requirements Current drivers’ licence A current
Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children) National Police Check Strong alignment with the mission, values and core practices
Ability to work independently across varied locations Well-developed relationship building skills Passion for safety in diverse environments
Flexible approach Focused on identifying areas for improvement Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to investigate incident and analyses data Attention to detail Excellent communications skills
