We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Leader to join the Major Projects team and oversee major projects that will shape the future of Canning.
Reporting to the Service Lead Major Projects, you will manage and contribute to projects and ensure robust Project Management practices, governance and oversee finances in the delivery of major infrastructure projects. Importantly, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and review various strategic projects to achieve Council’s objectives relating to good Project Management, planning and development.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, scope, and time
- Lead or assist multidisciplinary, inter-agency and multi-tasked project teams and/or external consultants as required
- Project contract administration as required
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables and milestones, ensuring good governance and compliance with Project Management standards
- Oversee the finances of major infrastructure projects, including the Canning City Centre Urban Regeneration Program
- Research and provide recommendations, scope projects and prepare project plans and business cases to support robust decision making and our tender processes.
- Monitor and evaluate project performance, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders
- Initiate and develop relationships across the business to enhance and ensure successful project delivery
To be successful, you will have:
- Between 5-8 years’ demonstrated experience or tertiary qualifications in urban planning, Project Management, architecture, civil engineering, or other relevant areas
- Experience in successfully delivering projects within a recognised Project Management Framework
- Sound understanding of the TechnologyOne ERP platform, in particular the Project Lifecycle Management module
- Substantial experience in managing multiple complex projects, including financial reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary stakeholder engagement techniques
- Sound time management and organisation skills, including the ability to run and facilitate effective meetings
- Strong written communication, evaluation and report writing skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within teams
- Demonstrated ability with the Microsoft Suite of products
