As an integral part of the winery team and reporting to the Chief Winemaker, the Winemaker position is a hands-on role co-ordinating and supervising cellar staff and ensuring day to day winemaking requirements are met whilst adhering to all quality, efficiency and safety standards.The successful candidate will have opportunities for professional development and career growth.Job Requirements
Key role requirements are:
- A degree in Oenology or equivalent (or studying towards it)
- Winemaking experience in a medium or large winery (a minimum of 3 years preferred)
- Previous experience with quality management systems
- A good understanding of winery management software
- Be passionate about wine quality
- Effective planning, organising and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and to mentor/supervise cellar staff
- Current Drivers Licence
- WH&S understanding
- Capacity to work extended hours during vintage
