Women's Advocate

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Women’s Advocate to join the Connect and Respect team.

As a Women’s Advocate, you will develop and deliver a range of services to maximise the safety and support of women and children who have ex/partners engaged in Communicare’s behaviour change program, Connect and Respect.

This role builds respectful and effective relationships with individuals who experience violence and program staff to build safety and connect women to appropriate services and support. The Women’s Advocate works to maximise the safety of women, children, and other family members.

This position will be offered on a Fixed term Full-Time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight. This role has the option to be based in Fremantle, Rockingham, Perth and Armadale, with travel between the sites required.

Selection Criteria

• 3-year tertiary qualification in the human services field, and or significant experience in family and domestic violence.
• Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning and advocacy to individuals who experience violence.
• Experience in engaging with individuals who have experienced Family and Domestic Violence
• Unrestricted drivers’ licence
• Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
• Current working with children check card
• Department of Justice integrity clearance
