The position
To support all operational processes and objectives required under the Major Hazard Facility licence and associated Safety Case. Using your logical approach and eye for detail to do the following:
Ensure workers’ training are updated to comply with legislative requirements, conduct training related processes including Training Needs Analysis, Staff Training and assist in updating training modules relevant to Safety.
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly testing and inspections on Schedule 15 chemicals.
Create and monitor Safe Work Permits and associated safety documentation.
Maintain and monitor essential equipment, service and maintenance records.
Conduct racking and warehouse inspections on a weekly basis.
Conduct MHF Inspections on a consistent basis
Maintain meeting minutes for MHF and operational departments, deliver WHS information and circulation of material
Maintain supplier records and assessment pertinent to MHF Branch.
Support MHF Team with various processes, including but not limited to hazard and risk assessment, management of change, Health and fitness for work.
Complete monthly emergency response equipment audits.
Propose any procedural amendments and bring inter-departmental issues to the attention of the Store Manager that can result in improved performance.
Propose to the Store Manager any training issues that need to be addressed.
Report and investigate incidents, identify control actions, prepare reports and participate in incident close-outs
Essentials to be considered
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar industry (preferably chemicals/dangerous goods)
Good knowledge of Dangerous goods and Hazardous substances
Tertiary Qualification in WH&S
Excellent communicator
Able to work independently and under pressure
Team player
Proficient with Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Word & Excel)
Ability to influence safety outcomes and improve the safety culture across a diverse workforce
