Role Overview:
As the WHS Coordinator, your primary objective is to monitor workplace safety, report identified hazards, risks, or incidents, and ensure that adequate risk assessments and control measures are in place. You will also manage any Return-to-Work (RTW) and WorkCover injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent service aligned with company values.
- Build rapport with Team Leaders and Managers to integrate WHS requirements with department goals.
- Monitor WHS in the workplace, including reporting identified hazards, risks, or incidents, and ensure adequate risk assessments and control measures.
- Conduct regular workplace walkthroughs, risk assessments, and implement improvements.
- Periodically conduct site inspections, undertake risk assessments, and implement control measures where required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of a workplace health and safety newsletter.
- Assist in creating WHS guides for staff at all sites.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant WHS legislation to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the WHS strategy and coordinate implementation tasks.
- Coordinate Health and Safety Representative meetings and activities in collaboration with site leaders.
- Promote Mental Health Wellbeing through structured activities, information dissemination, and EAP promotion.
- Review and develop workplace induction processes, training, and ongoing development activities.
- Maintain accurate records and notes.
- Provide monthly WHS reports.
- Participate in training and development programs.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
- Comply with all procedures, standards, and instructions.
- Identify and report nonconformities and improvement opportunities.
- Provide feedback, suggestions, and requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Report processes affecting product or service quality.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
