About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and passionate professional in the Health and Safety industry? Are you eager to use your expertise to lead project safety initiatives? If yes, then the Health and Safety (HS) - Projects Coordinator may be the perfect role for you!
You will join a highly supportive and professional team, that will empower you to fulfil your career passions and goals. This dynamic role provides leadership support on project safety matters by working collaboratively with project teams and ensuring an ‘Always Safe’ outcome. As the key point of contact for SRW project teams, the H&S - Projects Coordinator will champion meaningful Health and Safety project outcomes, ensuring all project planning and execution align with SRW's OHS legislative requirements to uphold our commitment to safety.
As the HS - Projects Coordinator, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership support to ensure implementation and maintenance of SRW's Projects Safety Management System: Act as the Subject Matter Expert to support both internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing H&S advise and support to SRW staff overseeing major projects: Advocate for system implementation that leads to safety of design through delivery, and handover of new assets or procedures to operations departments.
- Supporting SRW project teams: Support a systematic approach for the project teams to facilitate and monitor contractors to ensure robust H&S systems, including implementation of assurance initiatives, risk management plans, and risk assessments for all projects and programs to ensure legislative compliance.
- Providing advice and guidance: Advise SRW staff and project/program teams on OHS matters to ensure legislation compliance.
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience, skills, and qualifications related to the following:
- Formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is essential – (Open to candidates willing to obtain this qualification as part of their employment contract)
- Previous experience in OHS, Risk, Insurance or Project Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of OHS system management practices.
- Understanding of project related contractual, operational and project planning requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of OHS and system management practices to engage with internal and external stakeholders to advise on H&S matters.
