Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic direction and continuous improvement to workplace health, safety and environment practices.
- Develop and implement WHS policies, procedures and guidelines aligned with legislation.
- Evaluate and enhance process safety culture to improve performance.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate significant WHS risks and hazards.
- Manage the Emergency Management Plan including HAZMAT.
- Oversee workers' compensation, injury management and return to work processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with OSH Act, regulations, codes of practice and customer requirements.
- Provide safety guidance, education and training to management and staff.
- Oversee and manage training and onboarding for the Company.
- Build effective relationships with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders
Required experience and training includes:
- Tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equilvalent Diploma (WHS) and relevant work experience.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
- Proven ability to influence and drive cultural change.
- Previous experience working in a multi-discipline/multi-function environment.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- People leadership experience managing teams.
- The ability to travel as required.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
