HumeLink West Project
Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
The Opportunity
Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney, with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply.
Key Accountabilities
We are seeking an experienced Workforce Development & Industry Participation Manager to join the HumeLink West team. The position is responsible for:
- Driving the implementation of the Local Industry Participation Plan and Workforce Development management plans for the project with a focus on building capability for identified groups including youth, women in construction, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and other underrepresented groups.
- Working with RTO's and GTO's, community stakeholders, subcontractors and the client on the delivery of various engagement programs to drive opportunities in line with industry and client requirements.
- Planning and implementing Pre-Employment Programs in line with client requirements focusing on Trainee and Apprenticeship targets
- Managing reporting requirements in line with parent company and client requirements - including analysis and collating of data, and presentation of information in a clear and concise format.
- Coaching and guiding project staff on the engagement of employees and subcontractors to support the achievement of the Local Industry and Workforce Development strategies.
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry highly regarded.
- Demonstrated capability in the delivery of programs for disadvantaged groups with sustainable employment outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence outcomes in a fast-paced working environment.
- Intermediate MS Office skills and data analytical skills.
- Advanced communication and facilitation skills.
Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
