The Role

The role is responsible for managing a small team providing a range of human resources activities and functions.  The role has a particular focus on learning and development and works closely with senior managers to build employee capability through blended learning solutions including e-learning.  The role oversees other programs including recruitment, health and wellbeing, probation and performance appraisal, diversity, corporate induction, HR reporting and metrics, reward and recognition, as well as development of related policies and procedures. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team performing diverse human resources tasks to produce quality outcomes. 
  • Develop and deliver the annual learning and development plan and budget to support the diverse range of expertise required across the Memorial.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge in all areas relevant to the role taking account of contemporary developments, current legislation and best practice.
  • Prepare well written complex corporate documentation such as policies, procedures, reports, proposals and recommendations.
  • Provide individual coaching and one on one consultation across complex and sensitive areas as requested by the Head of HR. 
  • Represent the Human Resources Office internally and at external forums as required.
  • Collaborate with the Head of HR and other senior team members on initiatives to drive continuous improvement and enhance the contribution of HR to the Memorial.
  • Contribute to the broader work of the HR team and make a corporate contribution as required.
