Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Workforce Manager for the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). We have four Global Business Areas at Arcadis – Mobility, Places, Resilience, and Intelligence. This position supports our Mobility Global Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

In this role, you will align Workforce Planning (WFP) within Mobility and ensure consistency in approach & operations across GBA’s. This position can be located in any of Arcadis’ offices in Australia or the UK. 

Role accountabilities:

Governance & Stakeholder Engagement:

You will serve as the main point of contact between Mobility Workforce Planning Leads, fostering consistency and collaboration across Global Business Areas (GBAs). Your role involves facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among Business Area Resource Managers and GBAs, maintaining regular communication with Country Operations Directors, and ensuring a joined-up approach with global enabling functions. You will closely align processes with Global Executive Committees (GECs) and drive the operationalization of Strategic People Operations (SPO) while leading the Global Community of Practice. Additionally, you will support capability building for In-Country Workforce Planners and GEC Workforce Planners, drive global work sharing and internal mobility, and facilitate discussions on demand forecasting to inform pursuit planning.

WFP Process & Tooling:

As a key sponsor for Workforce Planning (WFP) tool testing, selection, and implementation, you will ensure rapid deployment and consistent usage. Your efforts will focus on standardizing and automating WFP processes to maximize efficiency benefits. Collaboration with countries/regions will be essential to establish/enhance WFP, incorporating GBA needs and requirements into the development and scope of tooling. Additionally, you will support the growth of Global Executive Committee (GEC) contribution through insight, process, and leadership.

Business Intelligence & Reporting:

Understanding global demand and pipeline, you will support staff agility globally and refine WFP plans based on workload trends, billability, and skills & competency challenges. Your role involves managing centralized reporting to ensure a clear central view of WFP, updating Mobility scenario plans in-country and GBA, and supporting Business Intelligence & Analytics design for Workforce Planning. You will drive data accuracy, utilizing available data to facilitate conversations and insights around supply & demand.

Qualifications & Experience:

You should have a bachelor or master's degree and experience leading and growing a significant business function within a multinational engineering or professional services firm. You will be able to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose and demonstrate significant leadership capability. 

The right candidate possesses a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility. Further the candidate will bring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization in particular senior levels. A pragmatic attitude is vital.
