About the role
The Works Readiness Advisor plays a pivotal role in the V/Line network, ensuring that all planned works are meticulously reviewed and align with established criteria and deadlines. This position is instrumental in the day-to-day enactment of the Works Readiness Procedure, actively leading the examination of work package stages-gates to guarantee that quality reviews are conducted thoroughly. The ultimate goal is to provide stakeholders with the confidence that all potential risks have been identified, mitigated, and are under continuous management.
The Works Readiness Advisor ensure the V/Line network’s maintenance and project works meeting governance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building professional relationships and engaging key stakeholders of different statures within the organisation.
- Implementing the Works Readiness Procedure.
- Coordinating and preparing well-structured reports and dashboards
- Lead Works Readiness meetings, including taking minutes and agendas, following up of actions, organising meetings and distributing communications.
- Presenting concise and accurate information to management to support informed decision making.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Substantial experience in managing diverse stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office 365 suite, including Word and Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Adeptness in leading meetings and driving discussions towards productive outcomes.
- Problem solving acumen, with a knack for addressing complex issues effectively.
- Adaptability to swiftly accommodate changes, coupled with strong organisational skills.
- A collaborative spirit, readiness to take ownership, and a proactive, results-driven approach.
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Desirable
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within intensive stakeholder engagement roles.

The salary package for the position is offered between $83,805 - $100,290 inclusive of superannuation, and is dependent on skills, experience and overall suitability to the role.
Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
