AddressTeck Global is recruiting Electricians to join our growing our growing workshop team. These positions are all full time roles with generous penalty rates for overtime and weekends. With base rates starting at $45 per hour, we searching for A players who want to join our A team.
Position Overview:
Electricians bring our designs to life. They are the backbone of our delivery team and their performance has the ability to improve schedules and customer outcomes which improves the performance and reputation of the business as a whole. Teck Global values the contributions of our Electricians and is seeking to build a highly motivated, outcome oriented team. Teck Global requires experienced and qualified Electricians to complete duties such as panel wiring, construction cabling, testing and commissioning. These roles are workshop based out of Malaga (or Embleton) with remote work possibilities.
The Role:
Our electrical workforce is divided up into three teams with permanent roles available in all teams. The scope of duties and responsibilities for these teams are outlined below:
Construction:
- Installation of electrical equipment
- Switchboard, tray and cable installation
- Reading and marking up cable schedules, equipment lists
- Provide feedback to engineering for continuous improvement
- Performing drawing take-offs for procurement of construction materials
- Glanding, Stripping and Terminating of interpanel and field cabling
- Completing red-lining of drawings
- Punchlist and modification work
- Completing and Sign-off of inspection and test records
- Producing workpacks for upcoming projects
Wiring:
- Reading GA drawings, mounting equipment, labelling and redline drawings
- Reading Schematics, Termination Diagrams to install wiring and terminate and red line mark ups
- Organising construction packs including printing ferrules, traffolyte labels and cable labels
- Performing takeoffs, requesting materials from stores and making up work boxes
- Ability to neatly loom and wire to a trade quality standard
- Point to Point testing, green-lining of drawings, verification of schematics
QA/QC & Testing
- Performing and verification of isolations for safe work
- Develop and Complete ITR’s and ITP’s
- Conduct regular audits of construction quality to specifications and provide feedback
- Answer technical queries related to Standard, Specifications and Design Drawings
- Basic Testing: Point to point testing green lining of drawings, IR, Ductor & HV Withstand testing
- Intermediate Testing: CT, VT and Power Transformer testing
- Advanced Testing: Programming and Testing of Protection Devices using primary and secondary injection
- Functional testing of Electrical Equipment: Develop and maintain testing procedures for testing of electrical equipment
- Assisting the Engineering Team with completion of commissioning activities
General
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environment, and quality management systems
- Reading Standards and Specifications to ensure compliance
- Supervision of junior electricians, T/A’s and apprentices
- Plan, develop and participate in safety briefings and training
- Participate in continuous improvement programs
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- WA A Grade Electrical Licence
- Australian Electrical Trade Certification
- Current C-Class drivers licence
- White Card
- First Aid Certificate (desirable but not essential)
- Strong work ethic and positive work attitude
- Ability to work to a tight deadline
- Excellent eye for detail
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Being familiar with safety, quality and maintenance procedures and requirements
- Capable of passing a pre-employment Medical / Drug and alcohol screening
- Previous industrial projects or mine site experience is desirable but not essential
