The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35-minute drive from the Perth CBD. The City provides the opportunity to work in a diverse environment from rural, natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator Waste & Fleet, this role supervises a team of 3 staff. The role will require scheduling maintenance of the fleet, planning for future fleet upgrades including electric vehicles, ordering supplies, budgeting, financial reporting and some hands-on work in the workshop as required. The successful candidate will ensure safe, high quality and cost-effective delivery and maintenance of the City’s current and future fleet.
Selection Criteria
- Possession of heavy duty and/or light vehicle mechanical trade qualifications, minimum certificate 3 or 4 in Automotive Industry, minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Fleet Management diploma/TAFE Certificate desirable
- Strong leadership abilities and team building skills.
- High level of time management and organisational skills.
- Strong decision making, negotiation, facilitation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Highly developed knowledge of Asset (Fleet) Management principles.
- Highly developed financial management and budgetary skills.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. We offer flexible work arrangements, including rostered days off fortnightly or monthly.
About the Benefits
This position offers a salary of Level 8 being $102,973 - $108,878 p.a. depending on skills and experience, plus superannuation. Other benefits include commuter use of a vehicle, laptop, mobile phone or allowance, annual increments, industrial agreement salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, 22 days annual leave with 17.5% loading and rostered days off.
