Based in our Dalby Workshop on an initial 5/2 roster (meals + accommodation provided if working away from home), you will provide ongoing maintenance and repairs to our diverse mobile heavy plant fleet to minimise downtime across our large-scale rural and remote projects. This role offers variety with future varying, flexible DIDO/FIFO roster cycles across Australia
As a Leading Hand, you'll play a pivotal role in supervising and mentoring a team of technicians, ensuring efficiency and productivity while providing support to the Maintenance Manager. Join us and become an essential part of our skilled and supportive team at RSA.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Provide supervision and support to team of technicians ensuring efficiency and productivity.
Mechanical servicing and support is provided in workshop and on local project sites.
Preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and machinery overhaul
Hydraulic and Electrical diagnostics.
Component Rebuilds: Engines ranging from light plant up to CAT 3412s, Transmissions, Differentials, Hydraulic pumps/cylinders and associated valving.
You’ll be working on: Graders (140-16M), Scrapers from (623 – 657), Dozers (D6 - D10), Loaders, Excavators, Articulated and On Highway Trucks and Fixed Plant.
About You
You hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) with demonstrated experience OR be a qualified LV Fitter looking for a change, challenge and variety
You have a valid, open Australian Driver’s Licence
You have a valid General Construction Induction - White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Experience and general knowledge of the construction industry, civil engineering and environmental principles and relevant legislation/standards is highly regarded or willingness to learn;
Willingness to work away on different project sites Australia-wide;
Demonstrate good communication skills.
