About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to undertake scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations on mobile equipment.
We are seeking a full-time trade qualified Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker) for an immediate start at our Paget based workshop. This is an all-rounder’s position with a need for experience with light fabrication and repairs, through to heavy repairs and manufacture on mine spec equipment. No Bucket works.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all fabrication is completed to a high standard
- Ensure all fabrication activities are conducted safely
- Inspect damaged equipment and scope job requirements
- Fabricate brackets and jigs as required
- Fabrication of large mining skids to specification
- Supervision and mentoring apprentices as required
About you
- Hold a recognised trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaker)
- The ability to interpret and work to technical drawings
- Previous light & heavy fabrication experience
- Flux Core welding experience is a must
- Ability to weld using GMAW, MMAW, GTAW
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attitude towards safety
- Over-head crane experience + HRWL for Forklift, Doggers is an advantage
