Workshop / Service Manager

Ararat Auto & Ag Services is seeking someone with the ability to lead and manage our workshop service team in both automotive and agricultural equipment repairs and maintenance. This is a key role! You will be one of the faces at the front line in customer service of our small, but vibrant family-owned business. 

We are a Repco Authorised Service Centre as well as a dealer in tractors and agricultural equipment. You will have assistance to manage the tractor and agricultural side of things including parts ordering and invoicing. 

We would prefer a fully qualified mechanic with a sound knowledge of quoting, repair times and sourcing spare parts. Someone who can manage and assist our team of mechanics, while keeping paperwork and invoicing up to date. It is a busy role for a well organised and driven person. Experience in a similar role will be a distinct advantage.

There will be lots of variety in this role. We service and repair a diverse range of products including:

• Cars, 4WDs, tractors, small trucks, trailers, farm machinery & forklifts
• Deutz Fahr and Kioti dealer - tractor sales, servicing & repairs
• Silvan, Howard, John Berends, Burder - sales, servicing & repairs
• Vehicle LPG specialist
• Roadworthy inspections for light and heavy vehicles

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Managing a small team of automotive and agricultural technicians
• Allocating and managing daily work
• Taking phone-calls and customer enquiries
• Quoting and invoicing jobs
• Sourcing and ordering parts
• Entering and pricing parts when required
• Assisting mechanics when needed
• Managing mobile service units
• Completing necessary paperwork
• Managing and keeping up to date with emails
• Ensuring compliance with OHS & EPA regulations

• Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal
• Management experience with the ability to work under pressure
• Qualified mechanic or extensive mechanical knowledge
• An excellent work ethic
• Honest and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Attention to detail and thorough
• Very computer literate
• Ability to do administration & adhere to regulations & policies
• Be able to work independently & support management in their absence
• Ability to work well in a team

Remuneration dependant upon current experience.
