In the role of Workshop Supervisor you will ensure the day to day running of the workshop is safe and efficient. The Workshop Supervisor will have the opportunity to mentor apprentice mechanics, guide and direct trades qualified employees as and when required by the Workshop Manager in order to meet operational requirements and the expectations of KTrans
In the role of Workshop Supervisor your duties will include but are not limited to:
• Supervise and mentor a team of apprentices, qualified trailer mechanics, auto electricians and HV Mechanics;
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to all health and safety legislation and regulations;
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, time taken and materials used to ensure all work is completed to a high standard;
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies and equipment as needed;
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity;
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations resulting in external and internal customer satisfaction;
• Utilisation of fleet systems and other systems/software as needed; and
• Scheduling of weekend and on call roster according to workload.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Familiarity with health and safety legislation and regulations;
• Australian Recognised Cert III in Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Commercial Road Transport;
• Frontline Management Certificate favourable but not essential;
• Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory role in a workshop or similar environment;
• Strong leadership and communication skills;
• Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities;
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; and
• Knowledge of workshop equipment and tools.
