Job Description
Under the general supervision of the District Parks and Visitor Services Coordinator and as a DBCA employee, provide executive support and coordination to the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Advisory Committee (NCWHAC), including:
- Organise NCWHAC meetings, creating agendas, recording minutes, and effectively implementing and managing actions.
- Liaise with DBCA Parks and Visitor Services to support consistency across Western Australian World Heritage Properties.
- With guidance from the District Parks and Visitor Services Coordinator and with input from the NCWHAC, assist with promoting World Heritage values to visitors and the community.
- Provide regular reporting to the Exmouth District Manager regarding the activities of the NCWHAC and provide relevant briefings to the Department through standard briefing and approval processes.
- Consult with relevant stakeholders and traditional owners of the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area regarding World Heritage matters.
- Provide project management and develop funding applications to support World Heritage projects.
- Ensure financial administration and periodic World Heritage reporting is compliant and timely.
Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. * Demonstrated experience in liaising and consulting effectively with stakeholders including senior officers of State, Commonwealth and Local governments, external organisations, community, Aboriginal groups, and the media, to deliver required outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong and positive relationships with the NCWHAC, internal and external stakeholders, traditional owners and the community.
- Experience and knowledge in financial management, administration, project management and contract management with a preference for someone with knowledge of government financial administration practices and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of World Heritage and conservation and land management principles, including knowledge of both marine and terrestrial conservation issues and experience with communicating those values to stakeholders and the community.
- Demonstrated experience in carrying out an executive support role to a board or a committee in a transparent and efficient manner with a strong facilitation, oral and written communication skills.
