About the role
Do you thrive on improving local flood resilience, water quality, and overall drainage efficiency?
In this role, you will support management of the City’s drainage system to improve drainage functionality, water quality and amenity, as well as ecological and community health outcomes, with respect to Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD). Working together with the City’s Drainage Engineer, Asset Management team and other professionals, you will achieve sustainable drainage and water cycle outcomes, assist in flood mitigation and delivering the City’s water strategy.
This is a unique permanent part-time opportunity (38 hours per fortnight) with significant impact on shaping sustainable development of the City’s drainage system and related assets.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Assist in developing sustainable long-term asset modelling for the City’s drainage network, incorporating WSUD and industry best practice
- Ensure performance of the City’s drainage assets through preparing sustainable asset lifecycle plans, budgets and strategies
- In collaboration with the City’s Drainage Engineer, prepare a Stormwater Management Plan and ongoing plan for drainage renewals and upgrades
- Project-manage drainage renewals, upgrades and design of new assets in consideration of WSUD
- Work with Water Corporation in relation to existing and future infrastructure requirements
- Prepare reports on issues relating to the City’s stormwater drainage network
- Provide technical advice on projects impacting the City’s stormwater system
About you:
- A relevant tertiary qualification to Water Sensitive Urban Design or similar
- Demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects, especially related to WSUD
- Proven capability developing strategies, plans and reports for complex local government issues
- High proficiency in reviewing and interpreting technical information e.g. design drawings, stormwater systems, scoping documents, construction cost estimates, asset and operational plans, etc
- Through understanding of whole-of-life costing and asset management principals
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
