WSIA Technical Transition Manager holds several complimentary roles including: transition and integration planning and process definition; transition and integration document review, revision, and eventual endorsement; and coordinating a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective test and commissioning.The
Technical Transition Manager executes these roles as the technical counterpart to the WSIA Operations Transition Manager: together, they ensure that Airservices processes and standards are met; that Airservices and national standards and regulations are met, that the Aerodrome systems are integrated with connected internal and external systems; and that Program-external stakeholders are advised and consulted every step of the way.In particular, the
Technical Transition Manager is the Program-side face of the
Technical Transition: they coordinate extensively with their lifecycle sustainment counterparts to ensure a timely and successful transition to operations.
In this role you will:- Identify, track, and manage delivery, review, and acceptance of the artefacts and events required for commissioning and transitioning to service of the Aerodrome systems
- Coordinate with program vendors to ensure the integration of all systems with connected Airservices systems and with external systems at Canberra and Western Sydney airports
- Manage the delivery, review, and acceptance of vendor-produced internal system architecture and the integration of DAS and Airfield Systems architectures into the Airservices Enterprise Architecture (EA)
- Track the status of planned changes and upgrades to connected Airservices systems and external systems; advise these changes to the technical and program management
- Be jointly responsible for the production, review, and endorsement for approval of various projects and planning
- Coordinate - along with the Test Manager - the Airservices human, equipment, and facilities resources for test campaigns, both vendor-based (contractual) and Airservices-internal (e.g. User Acceptance Testing)
- Lead Technical Transition meetings with various parties to ensure a timely and complete transition plan and execution:
- Be proactive in identifying and exploring risks, issues, and opportunities in Technical Transition activities; and work within the Risk Management framework to ensure these transition-related risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated or controlled appropriately
- Ensure that all work conducted within the Technical Transition space complies with WSIA Program technical, operational, and program governance, processes, and standards
- Manage the efforts of DAS and other tower systems integration experts and test experts
- Immediately report transition- and integration-related issues that are unresolvable at your level to

The PersonThe successful applicant will have:- Tertiary qualification (i.e. Bachelor's degree) in engineering, or commensurately experienced
- Preferred Professional Engineering certification - such as RPEQ - or the ability to receive such certification
- Experience with multiple systems in their technical acquisition lifecycle, including commissioning and then transitioning to operations
- At least five years' experience in designing, specifying, acquiring, testing, or managing system interfaces, integration, or networks
- At least three years' experience in formal product testing: some integration testing is desired
- At least five years' experience in either project management or engineering team management
- strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with a wide range of management, senior staff and staff across the designated region.
