Your Impact in the Role
Your efforts will support our strategic initiatives, enhancing the quality of life for carers and the people they care for across the ACT. This role is crucial, not just for its immediate tasks but for the lasting impact you will create in our community.
The key responsibilities and qualities for the Young Carer Group Facilitator role include:
- Identify Needs: Work closely with the Young Carer Care Planner to identify the needs of Young Carers.
- Establish Groups: Collaborate with schools and universities to establish groups specifically for Young Carers.
- Peer and Social Groups: Conduct peer and social groups in partnership with youth services in the ACT.
- Raise Awareness: Promote awareness of Young Carers in the broader community.
- Wellbeing Events: Facilitate and organize wellbeing events to support connection among Young Carers.
Who You Are
You are an individual who has:
- Passion for Change: You have a strong passion for creating positive change in the lives of Young Carers.
- Excellent Communication: Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to connect with others effectively.
- Empathetic Nature: You understand the importance of maintaining wellbeing and have an empathetic nature.
- Event Planning: You excel at planning and delivering events.
- Flexibility: Adaptability is key, as you’ll need to accommodate some evening and weekend hours.
Your Background will include:
- Experienced: Solid background in facilitating events, with a focus on community service.
- Qualified: Relevant qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Community Services).
- Inclusive: Experience with diverse cultures and young people in community settings.
- Certified: Up-to-date ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration, full COVID vaccinations, and a current driver’s licence.
