Lecturer in Nursing

About the opportunityThe School of Nursing works in close partnership with local healthcare partners to improve the health of Tasmanians and to educate a new generation of nurses with capability in leadership and future-focused health care. We build our future workforce through innovative learning experiences using sophisticated digital and face to face delivery across our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.The School of Nursing sits within the College of Health and Medicine which has a focus on boosting health and medical research performance and evidence-based learning and teaching to educate a new generation of agile health professionals and researchers.This teaching intensive position will contribute to student success through the educational preparation of pre-registration and post graduate students of nursing. You will assist in developing a positive culture that enables high levels of collaboration and productivity to support the vision of the University to deliver place-based education and research with high impacts for Tasmania.What you'll do:
  • Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching of a high quality.
  • Make an effective contribution in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate contemporary nursing curricula, including unit coordination, curriculum development, evaluation and utilising emerging and online technology.
  • Make a scholarly contribution as relevant for qualifications and the University's performance expectations for Level B.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective partnerships inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.
What we're looking for:
  • Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and post graduate nursing qualifications at Masters level or PhD (desirable).
  • Experience and demonstrated achievement in university-level teaching and learning including managing and coordinating units, developing nursing curricula and delivering dynamic learning experiences in undergraduate and postgraduate programs across all modes using contemporary teaching practices.
  • Engagement with innovative approaches to learning and teaching, and capacity to initiate and deliver quality improvement activities.
  • Evidence of research capability demonstrated by qualifications, publications, direct experience in research projects, or health service/program evaluation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining productive and effective partnerships with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
Salary detailsAppointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,083 comprising base salary within the range of $108,285 to $125,712 plus 17% superannuation.How to Apply
