Youth and Family WorkerSupporting Transitions

Who we are

Anchor has a long history of providing services for children and young people unable to live with their family and to young people who are at risk, as well as individuals and families who are experiencing housing stress or homelessness.

Job Description

• Full-time, ongoing

• Based at our Gippsland office

• Salary range $82,045.60 - $88,277.80 + superannuation + generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550.

As part of the established Supporting Transitions team, you will work together to ensure that children and families receive seamless support as they move across the pathways. The team delivers a range of interventions that fall into the scope of Targeted Care Packages, including transitioning from care, family reunification and Family preservation support.

Your purpose is to work constructively with young people from diverse backgrounds, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

There will be opportunities to grow your skills and experience, and be provided support, supervision and development to set you up for success.

As a Youth and Family Worker you will provide individualised support to the client and Family. This may include:

• in-home support

• assisting young people to develop independent living skills and community connections

• delivering targeted support focusing on education and employment pathways

• providing other targeted support assessed as necessary

• developing and maintaining case plans in consultation with young people.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will have knowledge and experience of:

• Trauma Informed Practice and Advantage Thinking

• the services, processes and networks that are needed and utilised by Anchor’s client group, and

• infant and adolescent development, mental health and substance abuse.

Mandatory Qualification/s, Competencies and/or Licences

A minimum Diploma qualification in Community Services, or a related discipline, recognised in Australia.
